The Games Repeat at their New Home
The Mid-America Games for the Disabled will host its 32nd year of competition at Blue Valley North. The Blue
Valley School District has again graciously agreed to have one of their premier high schools, BLue Valley
North High School host our 2013 competition. Blue Valley North High School is located in Overland Park,
Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, and its campus offers some of the finest facilities in the area for disabled
athletic competition.
Who We Are
Mid-America Games for the Disabled, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose volunteer members are committed to
providing competitive, modified athletic opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities and to promoting
a positive image of ALL individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
We strive, through our annual Games, to provide opportunities for individuals to reach and expand their potential
within their physical abilities. We promote a spirit of healthy competition for athletes with a variety of physical
disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, spinal chord injury, amputees and many other
diagnoses.
Our organization and the Games are sanctioned by Blaze Sports, Wheelchair and Ambulatory Sports USA, and this year
we are applying for sanctioning from Disabled Sports USA. We also are affiliated with the United States Olympic
Committee. Even though we endeavor to create a fun and supportive atmosphere and offer social events tied to our
Games, we are proud to have hosted many athletes who have competed at the National, International and Paralympic
levels.
