If you would like to volunteer for the Games, we would LOVE to have you!

Here’s what it’s all about.

Mid-America Games are a sanctioned, regional qualifying event for disabled athletes. We are sanctioned by NDSA (National Disability Sports Alliance) and WSUSA (Wheelchair Sports USA). For the first time this year we are applying for sanctioning from DSUSA (Disabled Sports USA).

Athletes' results may qualify them with their governing organizations for national and international competition. Some athletes can even be chosen for the U.S. Paralympics team.  Because of this, our competition requires each event be officiated by responsible individuals. Mid America Games relies on volunteers to fill these officials' posts and welcomes anyone willing to give his/her time for such an important event. Volunteers wanting to help with the Games can e-mail us by using the “VOLUNTEER FOR THE GAMES” button above. We try hard to place volunteers at venues they request.

Track events and Boccia begin competition immediately after the 8:00 a.m. opening ceremonies. Track ends by the noon lunch break.  Boccia runs the entire day, but requires fewer officials in the later rounds of competition. Field events begin just after lunch. Since everyone in attendance is seated and served at their tables for lunch, volunteers are needed to help serve. At the conclusion of Saturday's competition, Mid America Games hosts an awards dinner and dance for the athletes and guests. We need volunteer help during this time too. Our Sunday event is bowling. Volunteers are needed to assist the athletes with moving their ramps and retrieving their bowling balls from the ball return.

Come help at the Games and you'll leave with a feeling of respect and admiration for what these athletes accomplish!
