Dear Athletes,

I am very excited about attending your 2009 Mid-America Games. I have been competing in disabled sports for 15 years. I have had the privilege of representing the USA at three Paralympic Games in Wheelchair basketball. I have also finished 5 Ironman Triathlon races. These experiences have taught me so much about enjoying life. I have learned the importance of setting goals and working hard towards achieving them. Being involved in athletics has opened up the world to me by allowing me to travel to 37 different countries.

It will be an honor to come and support all of you going after your “gold medal moments”. Getting to the starting block is sometimes the hardest part.
