We are looking forward to seeing you at the 2008 Mid-America Games for the Disabled Field, Track, and Boccia Games!

This year the games are located at Blue Valley North High School, 12200 Lamar Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas 66209. The location can be identified on the two map insets by the letter "A" in the black block.

TWO MAPS ARE DISPLAYED ON THE RIGHT. The first is of a larger area to show the general highway access to the site of the Games. The second is a close-up view to show the streets taken to get to the site. ALL EXITS in the directions below SHOULD BE from theRIGHT-HAND LANE, unless otherwise noted.

FROM THE NORTH OF KANSAS CITY:

The two major routes available would be I-29 and I-35:

Interstate 29 (I-29):

  • Follow I-29 South until you reach the exit for I-435 South (after Parkville and just before the Kansas City airport (Mexico City Drive). Take the I-435 South exit.
  • Continue on I-435 South (approximately 15-20 miles, give or take). I-435 will eventually (in Lenexa, KS) turn 90° to the East.
  • Continue East on I-435 until you reach the exit Metcalf Avenue South (approximately 4 or 5 miles). Take the Metcalf Avenue South exit (right exit lane).
  • Go South on Metcalf Avenue until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street. Note: Metcalf Avenue turns into Blue Valley Parkway south of 115th St. While either street could be taken, it would be advisable to follow the main flow as it turns into Blue Valley Parkway.
  • Turn left (East) on 123rd street, cross Metcalf Avenue, continue until you reach Lamar Avenue.
  • Turn left (North) on Lamar and you will reach Blue Valley North High school on the left-hand side quickly.
  • YOU'RE THERE!

Interstate 35 (I-35):

  • Follow I-35 South all the way through Kansas City until you reach the exit for U.S. 169 South (after 75th Street in Shawnee, Kansas. Take the U.S. 169 South Exit. Take the U.S. 169 South exit.
  • Continue on U.S. 169 South (approximately 3 or 4 miles, give or take) until you reach the exit for I-435 East. Take the I-435 exit.
  • Continue East on I-435 until you reach the Metcalf Avenue South exit (approximately 2 mile). Take the Metcalf Avenue South exit.
  • Go South on Metcalf Avenue until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street. Note: Metcalf Avenue turns into Blue Valley Parkway south of 115th St. While either street could be taken, it would be advisable to follow the main flow as it turns into Blue Valley Parkway.
  • Turn left (East) on 123rd street, cross Metcalf Avenue, continue until you reach Lamar Avenue.
  • Turn left (North) on Lamar and you will reach Blue Valley North High school on the left-hand side quickly.

FROM THE WEST AND SOUTHWEST OF THE KANSAS CITY:

The two major routes would be I-70 from the West (Partially a toll-road) and I-35 from the Southwest.

I-70:

  • Follow I-70 East until you reach the exit for I-435 South. Take the exit for I-435 South.
  • Continue on I-435 South (approximately 10 miles, give or take). I-435 will eventually turn 90° to to the East. Continue East on I-435 until you reach the Metcalf Avenue South exit (approximately 3 or 4 miles). Take the Metcalf Avenue South exit.
  • Go South on Metcalf Avenue until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street. Note: Metcalf Avenue turns into Blue Valley Parkway south of 115th St. While either street could be taken, it would be advisable to follow the main flow as it turns into Blue Valley Parkway.
  • Turn left (East) on 123rd street, cross Metcalf Avenue, continue until you reach Lamar Avenue.
  • Turn left (North) on Lamar and you will reach Blue Valley North High school on the left-hand side quickly.

I-35:

  • Follow I-35 North past Olathe, Kansas until you reach the I-435 East exit (about 2 miles past the last Olathe exit at 119th Street). Take I-435 East.
  • Continue East on I-435 until you reach the exit for Metcalf Avenue until you reach the Metcalf Avenue exit (approximately 5 or 6 miles). Take the Metcalf Avenue exit South.
  • Continue South on Metcalf Avenue until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street. Turn left (East) until you reach Lamar Avenue. Turn left (North) and you will reach Blue Valley North High school on the left-hand side.
  • YOU'RE THERE!

FROM THE EAST OF KANSAS CITY:

The major route would be Interstate 70 (I-70).

I-70:

  • Follow I-70 West until you reach the exit for I-435 South (just passed ArrowHead Stadium). Take the I-435 South exit.
  • Continue on I-435 South (approximately 10 miles, give or take). I-435 will eventually turn 90 degrees to to the West (THIS EXITS/CONTINUES FROM THE LEFT-HAND LANE). Continue West on I-435 until you reach the exit Metcalf Avenue (approximately 10 or 12 miles). Take the Metcalf South Exit.
  • Go South on Metcalf Avenue until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street. Note: Metcalf Avenue turns into Blue Valley Parkway south of 115th St. While either street could be taken, it would be advisable to follow the main flow as it turns into Blue Valley Parkway.
  • Turn left (East) on 123rd street, cross Metcalf Avenue, continue until you reach Lamar Avenue.
  • Turn left (North) on Lamar and you will reach Blue Valley North High school on the left-hand side quickly.

FROM THE SOUTH OF KANSAS CITY:

The two major highways would be U.S. 71 in Missouri and U.S. 69 in Kansas.

U.S. 71:

  • Follow 71 North until you reach the exit for I-435 West (just to the North of Grandview, Mo. Take the I-435 West exit.
  • Continue on I-435 West (approximately 10 miles, give or take) until you reach the exit for Metcalf Avenue South (approximately 5 or 6 miles). Take the Metcalf Avenue South exit.
  • Go South on Metcalf Avenue until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street. Note: Metcalf Avenue turns into Blue Valley Parkway south of 115th St. While either street could be taken, it would be advisable to follow the main flow as it turns into Blue Valley Parkway.
  • Turn left (East) on 123rd street, cross Metcalf Avenue, continue until you reach Lamar Avenue.

U.S. 69:

  • Follow U.S. 69 North past Stillwell, Kansas. Stay to the right and you will exit (flow) onto Blue Valley Parkway. Continue North on Blue Valley Parkway until you reach the stop light for 123rd Street.
  • Turn right (East) until you reach Lamar Avenue.
  • Turn left (North) and you will reach Blue Valley North High school on the left-hand side.
